Brian Cousins

Meet Brian

Brian began playing organ at the age of five, with piano, singing and bagpipes being added to his studies by the age of nine. He went on to study orchestral percussion, accordion, bassoon, and piano. As a professional musician, Brian has toured with various orchestras, choirs, bands and other ensembles. In 2010 he worked as a ballet pianist with the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and the Royal Academy of Dance. He joined The Australian Ballet in 2011. His solo performances with The Australian Ballet include Sweedeedee, Petite Mort, Beyond Twelve and Ostinato (Fall for Dance Festival, New York). He has also performed in several Bodytorque seasons. Brian has played orchestral piano for The Australian Ballet’s performances of Romeo and Juliet, The Narrative of Nothing, Waramuk – in the dark night, Chroma and Cinderella.
